The French Connection
Directed by Jurgensen’s friend of 50+ years William “Billy” Friedkin, this Academy Award winning action-thriller depicts the true account of the NYPD’s pursuit of the wealthy heroin-smuggler, Alain Charnier.
In 2005, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
Cruising
Inspired by true events, Al Pacino plays the role of Officer Steve Burns, an undercover detective investigating a series of grisly murders being perpetrated in NYC’s homosexual community.
Since Pacino’s role was based on Jurgensen’s life, Jurgensen appears both on camera and served as a technical advisor on set. Recently the film was re-released on Blu-ray.
The Godfather
For years, Randy was affectionately referred to as the most hated man in hollywood for his role in the on-screen assassination of Sonny Corleone.
Decades later, Jurgensen is still frequently contacted by fans, movie buffs and collectors worldwide in hopes of buying authentic Godfather paraphernalia. Most are happy enough just hearing about what life was like on set of one of the most iconic films in Hollywood history.
