I was working that night and responded to Harlem hospital where I tended to Joseph Piagentini who was in the hospital morgue and then Waverly Jones who was upstairs on the operating table but passed during the operation. ![]()

Ultimately, I was assigned to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office working with 3 other detectives under the leadership of Detective Nick Cirillo based out of the DA’s office. Chief of Detectives Albert Seidman told us “Don’t come home until you catch the bastards that perpetrated this heinous crime”.![]()

For the next 2 years we chased the killers across the country and finally made an arrest out in San Francisco. The perpetrators were brought back to Manhattan, indicted and convicted. They went to jail for over 40 years. ![]()
